Do'a Malaikat Jibril :"Ya Allah tolong abaikan puasa ummat Muhammad, apabila sebelum memasuki bulan Ramadhan dia tidak melakukan hal-hal yangberikut:

Tidak memohon maaf terlebih dahulu kepada kedua orang tuanya (jika masih ada);

Tidak berma'afan terlebih dahulu antara suami isteri;

Tidak berma'afan terlebih dahulu dengan orang-orang sekitarnya.

Maka Rasulullah pun mengatakan amin sebanyak 3 kali.

Dapat kita bayangkan, yang berdo'a adalah Malaikat dan yang meng-aminkan adalah Rasullullah dan para sahabat, dan dilakukan pada hari Jum'at.

Tanpa Disedari11 bulan banyak kata sudah diucapkan dan dilontarkan tak semua menyejukkan,

11 bulanbanyak perilaku yang sudah dibuat dan diciptakan tak semua menyenangkan,

11 bulan banyak keluhan, kebencian,

kebohongan menjadi bagian dari diri,

saatnya istirahat dalam "perjalanan dunia" saatnya membersihkan jiwa yang berjelaga,

saatnya menikmati indahnya kemurahanNya saatnya memahami makna pensucian diri.

Selamat menunaikan Ibadah Puasa bersama kita leburkan kekhilafan,

Petronas beli Optimal stake USD$660mil

KUALA LUMPUR 30 Julai - Petroliam Nasional Bhd. (Petronas), hari ini mengumumkan pembelian keseluruhan kepentingan Union Carbide Corporation (Union Carbide) dalam Optimal Group of Companies (Optimal) dengan harga AS$660 juta (RM2.31 bilion).
Union Carbide merupakan anak syarikat milik penuh Dow Chemical Company (Dow Chemical) syarikat kimia terkemuka dunia..
Petronas akan membiayai pembelian Optimal melalui dana dalaman dan pembelian yang tertakluk kepada syarat dan kelulusan dijangka dimuktamad menjelang akhir suku ketiga tahun ini, demikian menurut satu kenyataan bersama kedua-dua syarikat di sini hari ini.
Kedua-dua pihak bersetuju untuk memeterai perjanjian pembekalan komersial yang membenarkan mereka meneruskan perkhidmatan kepada pelanggan dengan produkproduk dikeluarkan oleh Optimal.
Dow Chemical akan memasarkan produk asas kimia berprestasi kepada pelanggan sedia ada di Asia Pasifik
Pengerusi dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Dow Chemical, Andrew N. Liveris berkata, Optimal merupakan satu pelaburan yang bermakna buat syarikat itu.
"Dengan transaksi itu, kami menyerahkan pengurusan perniagaan ini kepada Petronas dalam masa yang sama kekal komited kepada pelanggan di rantau ini.
"Dengan pelupusan dan penjualan itu memperlihatkan keupayaan Dow Chemical untuk meningkatkan fleksibiliti kewangan dan mengukuhkan kunci kira-kira," kata beliau.
Sementara itu, Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Petronas, Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican berkata, pembelian kepentingan Optimal membolehkan Petronas mengukuhkan kehadirannya dalam segmen Olefin selain memperkukuhkan pertumbuhan industri petrokimia di Malaysia.
"Kami mempunyai hubungan kerja yang cemerlang dengan Dow Chemical dalam tahun-tahun sebelum ini dan menjangkakannya akan berterusan dengan Dow kini menjadi salah satu pelanggan terbesar OPTIMAL," katanya.
Perubahan pemilikan itu dijangka tidak membawa sebarang perubahan ketara dalam pengurusan syarikat.
Pengumuman pelupusan kepentingan pada hari ini akan disusuli dengan beberapa langkah yang akan meningkat fleksibiliti kewangan Dow Chemical, memperbaiki aliran tunai dan mengurangkan pinjaman sambungan.
Optimal yang ditubuhkan pada Julai 1998 merupakan syarikat usaha sama yang dikuasai oleh tiga pihak iaitu Petronas, Union Carbide dan OPTIMAL Chemicals (M) Sdn. Bhd., sebuah syarikat usaha sama Petronas dengan Union Carbide.
Selain itu kepentingan Union Carbide dalam Optimal juga diwakili oleh dua syarikat usaha sama lain yang turut disertai oleh Petronas iaitu OPTIMAL Olefins (M) Sdn. Bhd. dan OPTIMAL Glycols (M) Sdn. Bhd.
Optimal yang berpejabat di Kuala Lumpur mengeluarkan lebih 70 produk dan menyediakan perkhidmatan utama di pasaran Asia Pasifik dari kemudahan petrokimia yang berpusat di Kerteh, Terengganu.

Owen sah milik Manchester United

Michael Owen telah menyertai juara Liga Perdana England, Manchester United dengan kontrak selama dua tahun selepas diumumkan kelab tersebut kelmarin.

Owen, 29, yang sering mengalami kecederaan, bebas dari kelabnya, Newcastle selepas kontraknya tamat pada penghujung bulan lepas.

Dia telah menjalani pemeriksaan kesihatan di Hospital Manchester kelmarin sebelum kembali ke pusat latihan United di Carrington untuk melengkapkan proses perpindahan tersebut.

UEFA Champions League - Final in Rome

Defending champion Manchester United beats Arsenal 3-1: Back in the UEFA Champions League final for the second consecutive year, Manchester United wants to add to titles it won in 1968, 1999 and last year.
"I've said it many times, we should have won this cup more times than we have," Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson said after the defending champion defeated Arsenal 3-1 in an all-English semifinal Tuesday in London. "We've got the hunger and the quality."
Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals and set up another. Park Ji-sung also scored for Manchester United, which won the home-and-home, total-goals series on 4-1 aggregate and will play in the May 27 final in Rome against Chelsea of England or Barcelona of Spain.
Chelsea hosts Barcelona today after a scoreless draw last week in Spain.
Park scored in the eighth minute. Ronaldo connected on a 35-yard free kick three minutes later.

Tips to Deal with It
Economic recession may be a normal part of the economic cycle but this does not mean that it is easy dealing with it. In fact, a lot of people have already been burned by this problem in the United States. Times are tough in the country and more and more people are feeling the heat of impoverishment.
With the problems in the real estate industry and the job losses that have occurred all throughout the country, more and more people are getting worried about what will happen to them. Essentially, if you have a stable job, it will not be a problem for you. But this does not mean of course that you should just waste away and not do anything about it. All people will be affected one way orthe other. It is how we deal with the problem that will determine survival. So how do we survive in times of economic recession? Here are some of the ways.

1. Be aware of it

Forewarned is Forearmed. That mean that when you know something is about to happen, you are already in a way prepared for it. So be aware of what is happening to the country. Know what’s going on. Only by gathering information about the recession can you know how to better deal with it.

2. Save up
One of the best ways to stay stable in times of the economic recession is to save your money and to spend wisely. This is not to suggest that you don’t spend at all and just put everything in the bank. As much as you can, save some money in the bank. You will be able to need this should an emergency happen.

3. Avoid wastage

This is actually one component of saving up. When you save, you make sure that everything that you have bought have been used and have not been wasted. You can start on the dinner table by asking your kids to clean their plates when eating.That way, they will know that they will be forced to eat whatever they got butcannot eat. Along side this edict, tell them they can get a second helping should they want another but still, they have to clean their plates. No left overs.

4. Get your family to help

Dealing with economic recession and making sure that the family survives is theresponsibility of every member of the family. Even in their own way, your kidscan help out by making sure that they are not wasting food or not wasting electricity or water which contributes a lot in the overall household expense monthly. They can do this by making sure that everything is shut off when they leave the room. TVs should not be left open when there is no one watching. Same goes with air conditioning unit and heaters.

5. Get your neighbors to help

You are not the only one feeling the pressure brought on by economic recession.A lot of families in the United States are also scrimping right now just to makeboth ends meet. Join hands with them and work together. For instance, you canall save gas by getting your kids to school in a car pool. You can all taketurns on the wheel. This will also free you to do other things like maybe workpart time to supplement the family income.

BASF issues profits warning, introduces short-time working

BASF issued a profits warning on Monday saying that the decline in business was greater than expected in November and would negatively affect earnings. The world's largest chemicals group said it would introduce short-time working for 1,680 employees at German facilities manufacturing products for the automotive industry.Such arrangements could be implemented rapidly elsewhere in Europe , it suggested, warning that job losses could be necessary in other regions.In November 80 of its plants were idled and 100 operating at reduced rates. The downturn currently affects a similar number of units with 50 idled and 130 running at reduced capacity.In Germany employees can work fewer hours or not at all for a maximum period of 18 months so as to avoid redundancy. Plant closures in North America and Asia affecting 200 jobs have already been announced but more job losses could follow, the company warned.

SABIC Q4 net profit plunges 95% to $82.9m

Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) has reported a 95% plunge in its net profits for the fourth quarter ended 31 December to Saudi Riyal (SR) 311m ($82.9m) on weakening global demand, the company said on Tuesday.SABIC reported SR 6.87bn in profits in the same period in 2007.The sharp decline was primarily due to much weaker demand for petrochemical products amid the downturn that has hit the world's major economies, SABIC said in a filing to the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tawadul).SABIC also highlighted the difficulties businesses face in obtaining necessary credit facilities from banks, which helped accelerate the pace of decline in petrochemical values, as well as demand for products.Operating profits for the quarter tumbled 86% on year to SR 1.61bn as compared to SR 11.11bn in the same period last year.
